RAW Black is double-pressed during production, making it the thinnest paper in the RAW Classic line. The extra pressing reduces paper mass at the burn line, which translates into a slower, cooler burn and a smaller cherry that’s easier to manage. The paper is still made from unbleached, unrefined plant material, a blend of flax and hemp, with no chlorine processing. The natural brown colour and the proprietary criss-cross watermark are both visible when you hold the paper up to light.

Because the paper is finer and burns more slowly than standard RAW Classic, the taste contribution from the paper itself is even more minimal. It suits those who roll regularly and want a paper that stays out of the way of the smoking experience rather than adding to it. The gum strip is natural acacia, harvested from the Ethiopia and Senegal region, which seals cleanly without any synthetic adhesive taste.
