Baja Blast is a hard flavour to pin down, which is part of what’s made it a cult favourite for years. It started as a Taco Bell exclusive before making it to retail, and the flavour sits somewhere between lime, tropical fruit, and a softened Mountain Dew base, none of these things individually, but unmistakably itself together. The lime is smooth and candy-like rather than sharp, and the sweetness is kept in check by the citrus underneath. Cold from a can, it’s one of the more drinkable Dew flavours precisely because it doesn’t hit as hard as the original. Works on its own, and pairs well with food in a way that most sweet sodas don’t quite manage.
